Clinton campaign airing more TV spots in Ohio
Hillary Clinton is first out of the box with more general-election TV commercials in must-win Ohio.
The campaign of the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate began airing a new commercial this morning as part of an apparent multi-million-dollar statewide buy that runs until the eve of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on July 25. The ad also is going up in seven other states as part of an eight-figure buy, the Clinton campaign said.
Hillary for America began buying air time in Ohio this week, including on Friday, with records showing the purchase of 869 spots costing a total of $715,260 on Channels 4, 10 and 28 in Columbus. An apparent technical problem with the Federal Communications Commission website prevented accessing information on spots bought on Channel 6. Spot checks also showed the campaign buying TV commercial time in other Ohio cities.
The 30-second spot trumpets Cinton's work as former First Lady in helping win expanded health insurance coverage for children. The campaign provided no specifics on the Ohio buy.
