Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumWow. Just watched Nina Turner on HardBall (The wonderful Joy Reid is sitting in
for Chris Matthews today). Nina sure has toned down her rhetoric a lot. If she keeps this up, I may end up kind of liking her again. (Taking her off my poo poo list will probably happen --as Nina puts it-- "after the convention."

(24,630 posts)Called them "a faction" of the black vote in the D Party.
Really?

(3,854 posts)missed that. I thought she seemed kind of sheepish and was saying that the Black Caucus should let there be a discussion about getting rid of Super Delegates and having open primaries before they say "no way". I guess I have gotten used to her screaming "rigged!" and that the Dem. party is all bad...so her more kind and gentle approach seemed like an improvement. I am really pleased, though, that the Black Caucus is opposed to open primaries and no Super Delegates---I agree with them.
She said if there was any group who understood systems rigged against them, it should be the CDC. I don't think she's changed her tune much.

(989 posts)She is all swooped up in Bernie or Bust and has lost some of her thought clarity.
Super delegates is somewhat different concern for the CBC. A number of them are supers. A certain amount of leverage is possessed by supers and a huge factor is ensuring against a renegade Dem that might be the mirror of a Donald Trump. I can go along with having maybe fewer supers and having only ELECTED officials serve as supers. But I think we should keep them.

(2,897 posts)and why Black voters like myself can't stand her. She has denigrated and insulted too many hardworking black politicians in pursuit of her cause and in each case, it was never necessary.

(42,862 posts)That campaign has now fizzled out, and she's got nothing. And for all those bridges she burned, she's kinda stuck where she is. There's no going back.

(53,467 posts)I consider her personality to be too mean spirited.
NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)... if her mean-spiritedness is something that is innate and "just the way she is" normally, or is it something that she picked-up on from those in charge of the campaign or the candidate. For me, it's impossible to tell. I guess we'll learn more as time goes on and if her attitude and demeanor change when she's not as heavily involved in the campaign.
