Things Seem To Be Settling Down At DU

The inflammatory posts are subsiding. The anti-Hillary crap is limited to the dead enders who would only vote for Hillary if she agreed to hand Sanders the nomination.

Yesterday was a huge day for us. It was THE most-positive day in the campaign season, as the D power players threw their support behind Hillary and launched their attacks against Trump. From this point on, it's all about Party loyalty and getting the vote out for the GE. If you're not interested in unifying, then you're really not worth listening to at this point.

It's encouraging to see DU moving quickly back to its core mission.

If you notice some particularly vile/annoying people aren't posting, check their profiles. The number of people flagged right now is absolutely insane.

And of course, some other yucky people left of their own free will.

Then electing Democrats will get the job done. We have to turn out and vote.

Republicans would like to take us back to the Middle Ages. We can't let that happen. We have to build on what we have.

I've been trying to work on my own behavior even though sometimes they make it very very hard!

But I'm trying.
Trying to extend more olive branches even when my fingers get nipped.
Trying not to kick idiotic threads and let them instead die the natural death they deserve.
Trying to reinforce positive messages and genuine dialogue.
Trying to thoughtfully confront any totally unproductive eye-poking and dead-horse-beating from our general side of the fence.
Trying to answer genuine inquiry from the other side with substance instead of snark.

IT'S HARD. And sometimes I fail. But I'm trying.

make no mistake about that....with disruptions both inside and out. Glad to see a security perimeter will be in place and manned to minimize rioting and disruptions....

Fevers get worse until they break, and this one is not breaking until the new rules go into effect 5 days from now. Some people will have to learn the hard way that the primary is over, apparently.

I would surmise that when a user gets a post hidden for saying something awful/inflammatory/whatever, the chances are rather good that they said something equally inflammatory at some point that day; they are an angry bunch atm. Two hides per day usually (not sure if its a literal 24h time frame or if the pumpkin resets at midnight) results in a Flag, and the admins are not very keen on releasing FFRs, unless it's a person who had no Transparency visible beforehand.
