But that just really proves the point, doesnt it? Apparently, the race isnt over until the white guy, Bernie Sanders, says so, even if Clinton is winning on all fronts and with a more comfortable margin than Obama did in 2008.
But even if some in the mainstream media are cautious about admitting that Clinton won, the folks at the Clinton rally were not doubting for a moment that they were witnessing history. The words history or historical fell from the lips of nearly every person I spoke with and the air was positively buzzing with excitement.
At most rallies, the staffs efforts go into keeping the crowd pumped, because energies can flag after hours of standing around waiting for the candidate to speak. But at this rally, the staff seemed to be dialing it down a little, turning off the TV screens so that people didnt go hog wild at every minor primary victory. There were more than a few people on the verge of tears.
The New York Times headlines can say what they want, but the people in the room that night know the story theyll always tell was they were there the night the first female president cinched the nomination. At least the New York Daily News gets it:

(3,284 posts)It was so interesting to read because it's true.
We waited in what became an uncomfortably warm room, packed standing closely together for 2.5 hours before she spoke, with nothing but music to entertain us. I didn't see a single person around me complain (except for my husband...I think he was the only one complaining about how sweaty and gross he felt, HAHA). It was pretty amazing.
The entire time we were waiting everyone around me was waving their flags (they gave us flags), holding up signs, and chanting things like, "Hill-a-ry!" and "It's time for a woman in the White House!". Everyone next to me looked excited and happy to be there, even at the 2.5 hour mark.
I've never seen anything like it.

Thought maybe HRC was there or someone you guys recognized. That kept happening for about 2 hours. Now I know you guys were getting election results!? Is that right! LOL!!
So great great that you were there!!
I have been crying the whole day Today! I just watched HRC's speech again!

(3,284 posts)with a still shot of the Clinton campaign logo on it for most of the time; occasionally it would start showing election results, which is when the crowd started cheering.
