Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumHillary Won CA By 13 Points
I had predicted she would win by at least 7 points, maybe by double digits.
Well, I was sorta right.
SaschaHM
(2,897 posts)that Hillary Clinton ran a winning campaign. Her massive GoTV in CA was impressive.

(1,220 posts)After all those phone calls, the long hours canvassing, and driving people to the polls yesterday, it was so exhilarating to see the size of her win!! Mostly I'm proud that my millennial daughters are bright enough to tell the difference between enticing promises, and concrete, pragmatic plans.

(111 posts)Obama's 2008 field ops team was running the show for Hillary entire campaign especially in states like ca,pa,ia,nv,ny,fl in Latino communities. It's gonna payoff in the general.
That surveyusa poll of +12 was dead on and nbc poll +2 was a outliner poll. I knew she was gonna win but I had it +8 based on sanders wasting money for three weeks in ca. I think that incident in San Jose with trump supporters and nv convention did sanders in. Those ppl who were in that brawl were same ppl who went after Hillary supporters in east la.

(24,630 posts)the results!
Hillary started off with such a YUGE lead with only 1-3% reporting that it was clear he was not going to come close to catching her.
A historic day!
BTW - I never felt that CA was in play. We are a heavily Democratic state that is doing great with our big majority of establishment Ds in the state legislature. Sanders' attacks on the party and the so-called Dem establishment fell on deaf ears out here. We like our establishment Ds in CA!

(305,403 posts)If he can't do that how's he going to change SuperDs' minds?
I hear he called the President to meet with him Thursday @ the White House.. maybe he wants Obama to give him his SuperD?

(4,542 posts)Those polls showing that HRC had a 13+ point advantage didn't start going down until the bulk of the mail-in votes were sent. The LV (likely votes) to poll got pretty skinny.
And you're a warrior!

Tarheel_Dem
(31,443 posts)got 191. All the races to date, and the resulting delegate hauls, are shown in here:

(30,058 posts)majority of the pledged delegates. California was good to Hillary.
Tarheel_Dem
(31,443 posts)win, but by double digits. I still haven't come back down to earth yet. What a way to finish. Next week, DC is going to be similar to NJ.
Thinkingabout
(30,058 posts)following the numbers next week, this should seal the deal and allow the remainder of the super delegates to make their decisions.
BlueCaliDem
(15,438 posts)and I knew the polls wouldn't take those into account. Also, those horrible fights breaking out between Sanders supporters and Trumpettes was on television almost constantly. This makes Californians uneasy. We rather vote for the candidate who can project a calm we desire, and that wasn't Sanders. And also, Sanders supporters, predominantly NPPs, would have had to jump through an extra hoop in order to cast their vote for him in the Democratic primary. Democrats who have been registered Democrats for years, didn't have to do that.
I was thinking that Hillary would take California by at least 7% but hoping for 10%. I'm happy to learn it's 13%!

BlueCaliDem
(15,438 posts)seriously. I haven't for quite some time. It's nice to see polling numbers that show Hillary Clinton ahead, but that was just to 'feel good' and never to take seriously.

(111 posts)For being off on their projections for the primaries and getting abused by sanders supporters. Atleast on Twitter they took it and laughed it off.

(24,630 posts)but what does it matter? She has 2177 pledged delegates and 573 supers. 2750 total delegates when she needed only 2383 to win.

(9,666 posts)IF there is a huge turnout, Bernie would win. And often, the huge turnout did not materialize.
I was (still am) a Bernie backer, but will certainly vote for Hillary in the GE. I hope she gives Bernie a high-profile spot during the convention and in her Administration (should she win the GE which seems like a high probability).
stopbush
(24,630 posts)Sanders needed a big turnout of either indies or people who don't normally vote in primaries. He got neither in CA. But turnout was still high.
