(4,302 posts)I've always liked Meryl Streep. Sadly, I always liked Susan Sarandon a lot too but now not so much.

(15,445 posts)a nearly genius-level intelligence. Her ability to learn languages and accents is without equal.
Sarandon, not so much. When you consider her naïve political pronouncements, it makes sense.

(15,496 posts)But Meryl Streep is better in all ways ... and much the better human being of the two.
Susan has really diminished herself in the latter category with her ridiculous pronouncements about Hillary this time around. It's not that she supports Bernie that turned me against her; it's that she specifically attacked Hillary and her supporters, thoroughly disrespecting a legendary icon of labor rights, among others.
There was no need to do any of that if she was so sure that Bernie was the better candidate. That she didn't seem to realize that negative campaigning hurt him bears out the truth of your post.

(15,445 posts)The BS Group OP displaying it got 300+ recs. and was the cause of my banning from the Group:
Couldn't agree more with your observation here:

(15,496 posts)around that time simply for requesting that people not repeat RW smears against Hillary. BAM - that was it!
I sent a private message to the banner, noting that I hadn't actually realized I was in the BS Group at the time and hadn't intended to "dis" anyone with my request, but received no reply whatsoever. That was the real beginning of my disillusionment.
When anyone uses "fuck" in such a dismissive way, it is NOT at all persuasive, IMO. And I never agreed that Bernie was the "best guy" - I would have voted for Martin O'Malley over Bernie myself. Especially after my experiences with some Sanders supporters.
But this time, the "best guy" is in fact a woman! Of that, there is no doubt.

And, all you do is devalue the currency of the word for the moments when it's REALLY called for.

(15,445 posts)be downright creepy. Even in "Thelma & Louise", she gave off a strange vibe.

(4,302 posts)I totally agree, I don't dislike her for her support of Bernie but I strongly dislike her attacks against Hillary.
