Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forum"Settle for Hillary" is bullshit. I'm fired up for Hillary!
She won't just be a good president, she'll be great. I get that for unification, we need to talk to Berners about the similarities between them, and there are a lot, but clearly, in my view, the person you want to run the country right now is Hillary. I'll admit that she doesn't orate as well as Obama, and the email thing is a bit of political mess, but none of that has anything to do with actually being president. In terms of actually being president, leading foreign policy, setting a domestic agenda, running the executive branch, she will be simply great.
She's the most qualified person to run for president in maybe 100 years or more, and probably the smartest. In terms of policy in general, she's like a savant genius, everyone who has worked with her says this. In terms of foreign policy, she has very personal experience with two administrations, and has learned from the successes and failures of both. Contrary to what many Berners say, foreign policy is hard, sometimes there are only difficult choices, and I would not feel especially comfortable with Bernie making them. Trump is just frightening.
I like Obama a lot, would be fine with a third Obama term, which is what Hillary would sort of be, they are a lot the same. I think Obama came in a bit green and naive as to what the GOP is really like. Hillary is not green and naive. She knows from day 1 what she will be up against.
I'm sure some people will be settling for her, that's what I'd be doing if Bernie won. But I'm sure as hell not settling for Hillary. I'm excited for a Hillary presidency.

Walk away
(9,494 posts)that Hillary and the party couldn't actually run against Bernie because of his Child Army of voters. That's over in a few days and we are already watching our awesome candidate fighting in a way that Cranky Bernie never even dreamed of doing.
This is going to be a world class race and the entire world will be weighing in on it!!!!!

This is a fork moment... We could regress to when America was "Great"
or we can follow the path of sure and steady progress...

is that they simply do not give a hoot. Not on DU anyway.
and so long as they continue to post the ridiculous baloney against the obvious nominee I will vigorously defend her and laugh at the lies they post. I could care less about the emails because she hasn't thus far broken any laws contrary to popular belief in Bernieland.
Away from DU.. . I know a lot of Bernie supporters. We talk all the time about the elections and none of them sound anything like these fanatical Berners here. Every single one of them knows Bernie's campaign is over and they cannot understand why he and these kinds of supporters are sullying the progressive name and readily providing violent fodder for the GOP for years to come.
For instance, NO ONE buys that the atmosphere at the Nevada convention wasn't spurred on by Bernie supporters or that any of the general public is going to see the video and conclude that a man simply picked up a chair and placed it back down and was friendly.
I'm excited for a Hillary presidency!
