ellisonz, I'd like to take you out to dinner.
I'm absolutely serious. Supporters like you are what drive Democracy for America and make it so special. I wanted the chance to say thank you, face-to-face.
Chip in $15 or whatever you can today, and you and a friend will be automatically entered to join me for dinner in DC.
From the very beginning, DFA has been a people-powered organization. That was true when there was just a handful of us starting out, and it's true now that we're a million members strong. Our commitment to a different kind of politics, where grassroots power replaces corporate special interests has never wavered, and it's all thanks to you.
I love that. I love the passion and energy you bring to this fight every day. And I'm looking forward to sitting down with members like you for good food and great conversation -- about how far we've come, where we're going, whatever you'd like.
If you win, DFA will fly you out to DC, put you up in a hotel, and pick up the tab for dinner. All you need to do is enter -- we'll take care of the rest.
Donate $15 or whatever you can to be automatically entered for dinner with me.
Thanks for all you do,
- Howard
Governor Howard Dean, M.D.
Founder, Democracy for America
P.S. Not only will it enter you for dinner, your donation today will help keep DFA strong for the fights ahead. Don't wait -- pitch in today.

The first time I ever actually talked with Governor Dean was over lunch.
It was my first month at DFA, and I was in the office eating the messiest plate of tomato sauce and spaghetti imaginable. I had just put a big forkful in my mouth -- and in walked the Governor. I was mortified. I'd seen him onstage and in passing, but this was how I actually met him?
But here's the thing: Governor Dean couldn't have cared less. Right there in the office, he introduced himself, talked about how excited he was to meet me, and made me feel so at home, I almost forgot to put down the fork.
I wouldn't have traded meeting the Governor for anything -- and if you donate $4 or whatever you can today, you'll be automatically entered to win the chance to have a meal with him, too.
That story is one of my favorites, because it just sums up the Governor so well: straightforward, big-hearted, and excited to get to know all about you. Every time I've talked with him since, it's still a thrill seeing how genuinely he enjoys his work and the people he meets.
But you shouldn't take my word for it -- now's your chance to win a meal of your own with him. If you win, DFA will pick up the tab for airfare, hotel, and dinner, so you can focus on what's important: Getting to know Governor Dean.
Donate $4 or whatever you can today to be automatically entered to have dinner with the Governor.
And if you win...maybe don't order the pasta?
Good luck!
