MONTPELIER, Vt. —Will Howard Dean make another run for the presidency in 2016? He says "probably not, but we'll see."

Dean tells The Associated Press he isn't ruling out the possibility of seeking the Democratic nomination, which he tried for and didn't get in 2004.

When asked about a possible 2016 run, the former Vermont governor laughed and said he'd have to see a psychiatrist first.

He says a second run may be harder than a first, because the candidate knows what he or she is getting into.

1. He'd make a better vice-president than most.

He'd no more be allowed the presidency than would Dennis Kucinich.

if he wants to be in it, why not run for lower office?

Why not emmulate the great Jerry Brown and just run.
Being a talking head is great for the pocketbook, but you gotta be in it to do anything but yap

so why not run for senate or some house seat somewhere? Or Gov. or Mayor or something.

He could win a red seat somewhere, why not?

Of course, he could be Hillary45's VP. There are many people who could.
He would be one of them.

again, solely because of the party's makeup and the demographic change, it will not be a white male who is nominated in 2016.
It would be political suicide for the dems to do that, and they know that.

Sanders, Leahy, Welch. And I don't think he's interested in being governor again (plus he might be termed out).

Also, I'm not sure why he would want to be Mayor of Burlington or something like that. He wants national media access.

better to win a house seat and make it easier to win the house in general to get what one wants passed.

that's why I love Jerry Brown.
He became Mayor of Oakland, became ag, became a few other jobs in between and wasn't in it to do anything but serve the public, of which he has done about the best possible job of anyone.

it's getting things done that is important, not the ego trip.

3. Dean is younger than I thought

He's be 67 in 2016. The thing is he has executive experience, but not much in the way of foreign policy. I tend to agree he'd be a good VP nominee.

Fair or not, the last run pretty much ended in embarassment for him and the party. Biden, Clinton, and probably a few others are more electable.

12. Dean revitalized the party with his 50 state strategy, he worked his ass off.

we have a strong nationwide ground effort in place to get dems in office because of his leadership in the DNC. One could be at least a WEE bit grateful.

Bush embarrassed his party daily, here and abroad. it mattered not.

But I do see Dean as a vice-pres possibility, not at the top of the ticket, not realistically.

I would like to see him run with other candidates in 2016 primary, the debates would be excellent.
