Any chance Chuck Grassley resigns from his US Sen. seat so Gov. Reynolds appoints Pat Grassley?

This will give Pat Grassley the incumbency and seniority advantage.
Kim Reynolds will be in the IA Governorship until Jan. 2027, which is 2 years before Chuck Grassley's 8th US Senate term expires.

They merely would become the "100th US Senator," albeit they would have the advantage in the Special Election that follows as the appointed "incumbent."
