Thanks for posting, Cha!

The President and First Lady care deeply about our veterans.

Imagine the possibilities for vets if there was no GOP obstructionism.

May not be a huge Sequia trunk drifting along, but... in the same way we're always talking about "death by a thousand cuts", you CAN have growth by a thousand grains of sand.

Or, what I mean to say is that it's gonna be a long slog. Theres NO getting around that. BUT it's hard to not give in to despair. Or rather, hard not to totally plunge into despair and stay there.

But the fact is no matter who holds the Presidency at this period in time, that person would have to be someone really exceptional! I'm not descending into hyperbole here, either ( though I don't doubt that there are plenty of people who are just going to perceive that differently.)

So.....basically, I wish improvements would come more quickly, yes---but good to know when there's another success, because there have been MANY. But so easy to get overwhelmed--because everything IS so dire.

I can't imagine any other politician, or ANY actual current living person, in the same position as the President. Not without being pretty sure they'd crumble.

I think the grains of sands are outweighing the cuts.. I see postive signs all the time. They're just not nearly as highlilghted and talked about as the negative.

I don't think this news would be in the corporate media.. they didn't even ask PBO about JOBS today at the Press Con.

Really, I'm shocked and amazed! Guess the pukes knew that if they tried to stir THIS one up and destroy it like termites invade a building and destroy it from the inside, and the news got out---wooooooooeeeeeee, the shitstorm they'd have to face!

Going turncoat against the two things that EVERYONE, no matter HOW brainwashed and perversely indoctrinated or just plain full of concrete where his brain should be???? Are you kidding me?.....no matter any of that, EVERYONE knows businesses and Vets are the pukes' biiiiiiiiiiiiig shows! The BIG Ring in the Main Tent of their freakshow circus! So they'd be screwn if they tried to obstruct!

New push from Washington to hire veterans, spouses

KRDO (Colorado Springs, CO): The first lady and Jill Biden pushed companies to continue hiring veterans and their spouses. According to the Associated Press, 1 million members of the military are expected to join the civilian workforce over the next five years. Michelle Obama said companies have hired or trained 290,000 veterans in less than two years. However, she said, there is still work to be done. Statistics show the unemployment rate among veterans is lower than non-veterans.

Jill Biden said there are initiatives in Washington working to help military spouses as well called Military Spouse Employment Partnership. ”This effort has helped spouses build strong resumes, has sponsored hiring fairs and created strong resume programs. Since its launch, more than 160 Fortune 500 employers have signed on to the partnership,” said Biden. “More than 43,000 military spouses have been hired.”

Pikes Peak Workforce Center is hosting a job fair geared toward veterans May 15-17 at Pikes Peak Community College. Amthor said 100 local and national companies have already signed on. Here is a link for more information on the job fair: http://mvee.org/
