How this video came about. I started in early 2009 to see lots of pictures all over the Internet of the Obamas with kids. They seem to really enjoy talking to, and connecting to children. They seemed patient, attentive, and loving in the photos I saw. A couple weeks ago I did a search to see how many pictures there were. Oh My Goodness!! In order to make this video short enough to be palatable to the average viewer, heeding my husband, Christophers advice, I whittled down the first video removing 65 photos that I downloaded. There are an incredible amount of photos of this President and First Lady with kids. I hope you enjoy seeing a positive view of our First Family. Please feel free to share. I am so appreciative of the positive response.

Don't know if ever there's ever been a President and 1st Lady who connects with children as PO & MO does. I think some of the photos there went all the way back to when he was running in 2006-2007. Those children are our future. And thank you to the person (dudette?) who compiled and shared it with the world, and you Cha, who brought it to DU. And Merry Christmas to all.

Joy to All, from the White House to your house...
First Lady Michelle Obama invited children from military families for a craft-making session in the State Dining Room when she unveiled this year's glittering 'Joy to All' White House Christmas decor on Nov. 28. Led by Executive Chef Cris Comerford, Mrs. Obama and the kids made White House Honey Tea Lollipops, a sugary treat topped with crisp candied root vegetables. It's a holiday homage to the Kitchen Garden, where root vegetables thrive. (Above: Mrs. Obama and the kids, mid-decorating)
"They're healthy and delicious," Mrs. Obama said , as she held up a sweet wreath, sprinkled with candied carrots, celery, fennel and beets.

(15,445 posts)he's a man who genuinely adores kids. Clearly, he connects with them on a level that few adults do. He has the gift.
Loved this vid, Cha. Thanks for re-posting!

I found you all and you have enriched my life. I have been reading a lot of old posts tonight. It is a healing place to be right now.
I wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers such as they are. Thoughts can be prayers when your mind and heart speak. I wanted to find a way to tell you that.
Sweet dreams for tonight.
We will find a way.

(305,137 posts)time, she.. WOW! Thank you for that blast from the past!
I remember those posts.. The OP was from Dec 3, 2012 and you found us on the 18th on your own. You're such a great reseacher it was bound to be!
And, continuing in that Blast from the Past vein.. Cat Stevens-Morning Has Broken~ What stunning, brilliant, compelling photos to go with Cat singing that beautiful song .
I looked to see if he wrote it and found this interesting info..
"Morning Has Broken" is a popular and well-known Christian hymn first published in 1931. It has words by English author Eleanor Farjeon and is set to a traditional Gaelic tune known as "Bunessan" (it shares this tune with the 19th century Christmas Carol "Child in the Manger"[1]). It is often sung in children's services. English pop musician and folk singer Cat Stevens included a version on his 1971 album Teaser and the Firecat. The song became identified with Stevens when it reached number six on the US pop chart and number one on the US easy listening chart in 1972.
The hymn originally appeared in the second edition of Songs of Praise (published in 1931), to the tune "Bunessan", composed in the Scottish Highlands. In Songs of Praise Discussed, the editor, Percy Dearmer, explains that as there was need for a hymn to give thanks for each day, English poet and children's author Eleanor Farjeon had been "asked to make a poem to fit the lovely Scottish tune". A slight variation on the original hymn, also written by Eleanor Farjeon, can be found in the form of a poem contributed to the anthology Children's Bells, under Farjeon's new title, "A Morning Song (For the First Day of Spring)", published by Oxford University Press in 1957."
Much more~

Mahalo sheshe.. I can't put into words what your kindness means.. especially during a freaking Economic Crisis in our Country. Nor can it be measured how much you have Enriched our lives in and out of the BOG.
Thank you for the history of Cat's song. From a hymn, that's beautiful.
And again thank you, it has been great being here with all of you.
