John Kerry explains and defends the TPP (BOG GROUP)

in accepting the (well-deserved) Diplomat of the Year award from Foreign Policy magazine

Whole video is great (recommended!) but comments on TPP start around 37-38 minutes into the video. Takes on knee-jerk reactions (both and against) with the first sentence. . .

One of the most important (and often undervalued, or at least taken for granted) measures of leadership excellence is the people you hire. Strong hiring decisions come from leaders with good instincts and the self-confidence to surround yourself with the best team.

And- just think- almost 7 years now, with unprecedented, daily opposition by small-minded (OK, and also racist) people and NO SCANDALS in this administration.

I'm going to miss this White House.
