Barack Obama
Related: About this forumBOG. If I had left the U.S. during the BushCheney regime, I would have missed having Obama as....
...my President.
Anybody remember those discussions, those private pit-of-the-soul thoughts? Aside from anger at BushCheney, which was upfront, there was borderline terror at what they were doing to my nation.
I talked about it with my husband, and he was willing to leave. I hesitated, because our grown kids were not going anyplace and I was not going to leave them behind. Finally, finally Dubya was gone.
I have not thought about that in a long time, but today I looked at it in a different manner: if I had not stayed, I would have missed Barack Obama's presidency, and he has been the best president of my 67 years.
Nothing more profound than that, and yet it means everything.
