That is if he ever gets over the shock of actually having to build a consensus to get things done.

governors to expand Medicaid in 21 states. Unless the o.p. just wants the POTUS to engage in symbolic wars (like he has nothing else to do), then I don't see the point.

Yup. Let BS take up the single payer fight, and we'll see if the country's in the mood.

If the 111tb congress did I not do it why would this tea party congress? They only want to repeal the ACA. What a clueless request

as more people benefit, we get more support politically and more pressure on politicians for bigger reforms. We need more success stories, more people need to know their friends and loved ones are benefitting, and collectively our health outcomes and economy has to be improved because of it. This is the only way to get people to start believing that everyone does better when everyone does better, rising tide lifts all boats, etc. They have to see it to believe it.

Gay marriage happened one state at a time until it reached the tipping point

We might get single payer faster than you think. Do it at the state level first.

With this Congress, I'd say it's impossible. YMMV. Why attempt the impossible ? Let's get a decent Congress FIRST, then go for single payer. If this Congress or any Congress before January 20, 2017 passes single payer healthcare, feel free to shove this post in my face.
