What the heck is going on with WilliamPitt and Skipper?

I just read the vague apology and egocentric "mea culpa" and couldn't follow at all - THANKFULLY.

Does anybody here understand what is going on in that little world over in GD?

WilliamPitt is saying he could easily have been banned also. It's easy to find the huge thread about NYC in GD.

What WilliamPitt is arguing for is that he should be given the chance to apologize.

I am hoping the action of the Administrators will curb a lot of the over the top posts, that try to push the limits, and instead produce more product discussions and disagreements, but I am pretty skeptical now that election season is fast approaching

5. I said a few weeks ago GD is going stupid.

People are losing it over their favorite in the primary.

A lot of people getting put in Timeout as well, it is sad to see people not be able to work it out.

It's made me more sure than ever to be positive about all our candidates. Not saying to treat a single one with kiddie gloves - just the outlandishness needs to stop.

HRC is more than qualified to be POTUS, it is a fact deal with it.

People here need to calm down, I hate seeing long timers get censored or kicked off of DU.

9. No idea what's going on with wp, as I have him on full ignore....

....but skp got banned for using a tongue twister that equals a mysoginistic slur. I wasn't aware of as much of the latter's history as subsequently came out -- there's a thread with over 1,000 posts grieving his forced departure, and a dozen more carrying on the battle. It is amazing how many people want to dismiss and minimize slurs against women.

As for wp, I only see his posts when they're on the front page because of the aforementioned full ignore setting. Interesting that he should acknowledge how he himself skirts the rules again and again, but only in context of trying to excuse someone else's behavior.

I still think when the chips are down some will leave and hopefully others shown the door.

I suppose this is as good a place as any to say that I'm honestly sorry about what happened. I think you are a good friend of the BOG and a good DU buddy to many including me. The long GD threads are a testament to that. About all I can add is that sometimes things happen for a reason and this might be a good time to focus on your health and wellness and just basically take it easy for few months. We won't forget you, DU won't go away, there's always Discussionist which isn't half as bad as it's painted, and in a couple of months I imagine everyone will have a healthier perspective. And please let us know how you're doing via FB friends so we don't worry.

If SKP wants back he needs to own it and apologize to the Admin when asking to be re-instated.. not try to wiggle out of it like others are trying to do for him.

Those making excuses for him.. from saying "it wasn't directed at Hillary" to ".. the Admin is biased..", "he really didn't say it" to "he was only joking" are doing him absolutely no good.
