Here, he was coming back from Sandy Hook. Tears.

Nope....we were never asking for the son of Gawd. We were asking for some sun. He gave us that.

POTUS just dropped the Mic for the ages.

POTUS speech at Selma was a love letter to America.

Yup, yes...so many hate me here for supporting this President. I don't care. Best President in my lifetime. He has stepped up to the plate every damn day. He does it with humor and grace. Yes dignity so much dignity. He has been been vilified from day one and he lets that roll off his back. The right hates him, the left, some seem to think he is a POS. Sad that.

He has given us more peace and stability with other countries than we have seen in a very long time. Our standing has risen.

He gave us hope with healthcare. Is it perfect, no. We got the best we could at that time. No preexisting conditions, children stay on there parents plan until they are 26. So much, so much more.

He is the best President of my lifetime. Best. Ever!

Obama has been grateful for the opportunity.

Regarding sleep, I have slept about 20 hours in the last 7 days, with three days of no sleep at all, and the sleep has been between 1 or 2 hours and at best 3. Don't know what is the matter and I'm pretty sure there is nothing to be done for it. You get some sleep..

When you've eliminated caffeine as a cause of insomnia, physical and/or mental pain is left. I speak from experience. Try an over the counter med for pain, change out your pillow, that kind of thing. Avoid more than one dose of alcohol, for obvious reasons.

For stress/mental pain, what I did a couple of years ago was listen to Hawaiian music on my iPod in bed, specifically the soundtrack from The Descendants, which is just an outstanding compilation of the masters. I was living through a heartbreaking situation with an old friend, and as soon as I lay down every night it would just flood me. That music helped me through it. Some of Carlos Nakai's Native American flute music works too.

The other thing I did was look up hypnosis CDs on Amazon. After listening to some samples for a voice I liked I chose Roberta Shapiro's "Sleep Solutions". She has a relaxation routine that works about 98% of the time for me, in that I almost never consciously hear the end of it.

Love ya both. Please don't burn out, sisters.

My pillows are good, my down comforter is heaven, best one I ever owned. I got it 3 years ago when the store I worked in closed, display model ticket price $300.........got it for $25.

It is getting myself to go to bed that is the issue. Will try some of your suggestions for stress/pain.

Both of you, get some rest. Let someone else stand guard tonight....

It was a late night for me, yet slept like a baby last night. Thank you.

Those who would hate you are small-minded, meanspirited, and IMO wastes of space on this planet. They can hate me as well, if they like, since I share your support of our President, and like you, I don't care what they think. Keep up your excellent work on the BOG, and take heart that so many of us agree with you, and find your posts uplifting and enriching. I have been having awful nightmares lately, fortunately can't recall most of them, but they do disturb my sleep. But your and others' BOG posts never fail to remind me that nightmares aren't real, and my dreams of peace and a better world can become reality because of our President. As we used to say in the 60s, keep the faith, everyone. The future depends on us!

Blessings and peace.

has endured ~ i imagine he is thinking "many americans have endured more". he reads the personal stories and letters or talks to a young person or old or a veteran and he gets fired up to do more. you can hear it in his voice and see it in his demeanor when he speaks from conviction.

he has a bright path before him when he leaves office and i look forward to seeing where it leads him.

thank you, sheshe2 - you are a shining star.
