This is very hard to write, but I need a break and it's been coming for some time.
Yesterday we found out that our son had a motorcycle accident 24 hours earlier. The good news is that only his tibia is broken and his ankle is injured. He walked away from the accident (ie called his wife) and finally went to the Urgent Care center 24 hours later. The bad news is he lost consciousness for a time -- in other words, a concussion. No, he hasn't had a CT scan. But 20 years ago when he was a teenager he had a head injury, so a mother's heart is ... well, you know. Please some good thoughts if you can.
Then I came to DU this morning, and it is what it is here. I need a break from this.
This is for you, for me, for everyone:
May all beings be peaceful
May all beings be happy
May all beings be safe
May all beings awaken to the light of their true nature
May all beings be free

And to you I am holding on as tight as I can. I am an aunt only, yet I adore them as my own. I went through it twice, with two of them, so I know how you feel to an extent.
Love to you and yours.

(68,644 posts)I hope that he can be provided with a CT scan.
Ideally, it will indicate no problem whatsoever, but if, like me, it shows any bleeding, it could be a life or death moment.
Full disclosure, I'm 57, but I hear of people in their 30s becoming victims of brain bleeds, prestrokes, brain attacks, as these are called.
Don't worry, but do all you can while you can.
Hugs and vibes.

lots of good thoughts for a quick recovery for your son and strength for you and his loved ones.
as a mama bear in her own right, your concerns and love for your son are understood.
make sure to have a family member / advocate at his side at all times and to get a second opinions if you have any questions at all and they are not answered to your hearts' content.
