The President carries the weight of his office, that alone is immense. The burden in my opinion is staggering. Now he carries the weight of Congress as they have refused to do their jobs that they are well paid to do. They have left it all on his shoulders.













This seats taken and it will be until January of 2016.



He stands alone in so many ways, it's not just the GOP. So many have left him adrift.

So, it is not okay for Obama to take executive action unless the House is paralyzed by Republican infighting? Speaker Boehner and the House Republicans can’t have it both ways. They can’t claim that President Obama is a tyrant, and then tell him to act without them.

On an issue as important as the humanitarian crisis on the border, the House of Representatives must weigh in. Boehner has to realize that his own inability do the most basic part of his job is not going to help his lawsuit.

I had no idea of the rich history of that desk.

On a side note, I also didn't realize that tensions were so high between Great Britain and the United States back in the 1850's.

14. I actually don't agree with the concept they are not doing their job

They are able to get in the way of the President and vice versa.

And that's why we need to quit letting the Rs win in midterms by staying home, whoever it is that stays home.

And the Rs have their double standards on use of Executive Orders. As long as used within the law, they are fine, and being aggressive about their use is fine with Rs when they have the office.

and I've had left-leaning friends on FaceBook laugh in my face for saying I'm proud of voting for him twice (I actually voted for Edwards in the primaries...boy am I glad that vote failed), but I think we will look back fondly on living through his presidency—I do not EVEN want to dwell on what our lives would be like with a President McCain and President Romney. :O

God bless our president. He asked for a prayer cover long ago, and many of us try to give him that. Even the atheists and agnostics in their own humanist way, which counts every bit as much. Sometimes I wonder if we're not living under the perfect ancient Chinese curse: May you live in interesting times.

But we will make it through. Together. Setbacks will come, but then we will overcome that too. On the right side of history, remember.
