Weekly update on Obamacare sign ups Week 6 = 810,000

Blogger Brainwrap has refined his methodology (and the quality of the data is getting better). He has documented it by state and has more than 800,00, and this excludes many states, including California.

See the latest figures here:

http://obamacaresignups.net/

The numbers show the important breakdown between Medicaid expansion and non Medicaid expansion.

These appear to be 'firm' but low figures. For example he has taken out CA numbers because they aren't documented well enough.

http://www.independent.com/news/2013/nov/01/health-care-reform-works-california/?on

To date, more than 125,000 applications have been filed by Californians who will finally be able to have affordable, high-quality health care.

In Arizona, for example, no signups have been reported and I signed up over a month ago.

When all of the figures are reported in from all of the different exchanges it would appear that we are approaching 1 million applications for insurance.

The RW and media will continue to 'stir the shit'. The fact is with January 1st being the first day that coverage can happen NO premiums are yet due (that won't happen till December 15) and we won't have actual figures until January.

The bottom line? It appears that about a million families that have not been able to get to see a doctor have moved much closer to getting that done.

When anything on the ACA comes up on the media I just change the channel, I prefer to see the actual facts.

News from The Hill:

106K enrolled in ObamaCare
By Elise Viebeck

About 106,000 people selected private health plans under ObamaCare in the program's first month amid massive problems with the enrollment website that have plunged the administration into a political quagmire.

The total represents about one-fifth of the administration's goal for the exchanges' first month. HHS did not say how many people have actually purchased coverage under ObamaCare.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released the enrollment figure Wednesday after six weeks of pressure from the media to reveal how the botched registration effort is proceeding.

As the op stated "there's some serious bullshitting going on in the media.

Confusing. 40K to 50K signed up in WA. In TX, 3K signed vs. 100K applied, 80K eligible.

WA has a state exchange that is doing very well.

TX is well... can't tell what the story there is.

So when this story cites a number less than WA. all I can do is
