PBO and VPB....as always look great together.

Two charismatic men, that balance each other so well.

Here's the text of his speech.

Remarks by the President on Immigration Reform

East Room

10:47 A.M. EDT

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much. Please have a seat, everybody. Good morning, and welcome to the White House. Today I’m here with leaders from business, from labor, from faith communities who are united around one goal -- finishing the job of fixing a broken immigration system.

This is not just an idea whose time has come; this is an idea whose time has been around for years now. Leaders like all of you have worked together with Republicans and Democrats in this town in good faith for years to try to get this done. And this is the moment when we should be able to finally get the job done.

Now, it’s no secret that the American people haven’t seen much out of Washington that they like these days. The shutdown and the threat of the first default in more than 200 years inflicted real pain on our businesses and on families across the country. And it was a completely unnecessary, self-inflicted wound with real costs to real people, and it can never happen again.

Even with the shutdown over, and the threat of default eliminated, Democrats and Republicans still have some really big disagreements -- there are some just fundamentally different views about how we should move forward on certain issues. On the other hand, as I said the day after the shutdown ended, that's no reason that we shouldn’t be able to work together on the things that we do agree on.

I think I read somewhere that if the release is from the Whitehouse, it can be copied in full. However the rest is at the link.

Thanks so much Cha~

to do for Sensible Immigration. I see it's going over here about as well as it's going over with the teabaggers in the House.

But, even if it doesn't get to come up for a Vote because of the chicken livered speaker.. President Obama, et al will be able to show the People in our Country what they're trying to do for Immigration Reform.. especially when CLEAN HOUSE GOTV2014 comes around. They look so happy at the White House today!

Thank you for the transcript of PBO's Remarks on Immigration Reform, she.

Julián Castro's DNC Keynote Speech - Elections 2012

Published on Sep 4, 2012

Mayor Julián Castro of San Antonio delivered the keynote speech Tuesday night at the 2012 Democratic National Convention, the same speech that propelled then-Senator Barack Obama to fame in 2004.

But as to recent commentary by him on this, I haven't found it. Will keep looking...

13. Good question on what Julian and Joaquin thoughts were on Immigration Reform, Irish..

Oct 2013

this is what I found so far..

Julian Castro..

"Mexican President Felipe Calderon expressed his appreciation to Mayor Julian Castro for San Antonio's pro-Mexico relationship, especially in business investments, in a meeting that lasted nearly an hour Monday evening. Castro declared support for comprehensive immigration reform and listed business investments San Antonio companies have made in Mexico.

Castro said afterward that he cited as examples H-E-B, which operates 36 Mexico stores, and Valero Energy Corp.'s dealings with Mexico's government-owned energy company, Petroleos Mexicanos, or PEMEX. Castro said he told Calderon that Texas has "a better approach to immigration policy than other hard-line states. I said, 'We have a more reasoned approach that can provide a better opportunity for a compromise'" on U.S. immigration reform."

House Democrats Unveil Immigration Reform Bill; Pressure House GOP To Do Their Job

snip//

"After finally having enough of the nonsense from their colleagues across the aisle and sending an ultimatum to House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to do his job, House Democrats are taking leadership of the issue and have unveil their own immigration reform bill this Wednesday.
Key Democratic lawmakers in the chamber -- including Nancy Pelosi (D-California), the top House Democrat; Xavier Becerra (D-California), and Congressional Hispanic Caucus chairman Ruben Hinojosa (D-Mercedes, Texas) -- worked on a comprehensive piece of legislation since summer.

"Every piece of this legislation has had bipartisan support, and that is important to us," said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

The New Democrat Coalition -- a group of more moderate lawmakers in the caucus -- were key in crafting the legislative effort and are expected to play a major role with the House Democrats' immigration strategy. New Democrats Joe Garcia (D-Florida), Suzan DelBene (D-Washington), Jared Polis (D-Colorado), and our own Joaquin Castro (D-San Antonio, Texas) will help lead the fight to champion immigration reform in the House."

The teabagger klan doesn't want it.. so if it even comes up for a Vote it will be a miracle but as I said .. the Dems are working hard on this in spite of the Obstruction and it will count for a lot to those People in our country who want this to happen.

And, that's from Republicons.. and we know Dems want it..

Polls Show Strong Support for Immigration Reform by Republicans

snip//

"Seems like immigration reform has finally grown on Republicans.

Research by GOP pollster, Whit Ayres, shows more than two thirds of Republicans support immigration reform, including providing a pathway to citizenship for the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the country. Indeed, Republicans want to see something done."

Photos: Immigration reform pastry protest at Republican offices in Livonia disrupted by police

LIVONIA, MI — The Mexican food might not have been delivered, but the message was.

The shared stories of deportation are similar, all ending with grief-stricken families and fatherless children.

A group of more than 15, many Mexican immigrants, some undocumented, gathered in front of the Republican headquarters on Plymouth Road in Livonia just before lunch Thursday.

They came with Mexican dishes and planned to deliver the authentic cuisine, including tortillas, tamales and pande muerto, a dish served on the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday celebration, to GOP employees.
