"The President greets U.S. soldiers at Bagram Airfield after an all-night, unannounced flight to Afghanistan. We were scheduled to helicopter to Kabul to meet with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, but that portion of the trip was canceled due to heavy winds." (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)

Obama photographer Pete Souza gets hitched in White House wedding...so who took the pictures?
"Obama's official photographer Pete Souza got a presumably picture perfect wedding at the White House Rose Garden Saturday night, hosted by the commander-in-chief.
White House Military Chaplain Stanley Fornea officiated the marriage celebration for Souza and his bride, Patti Lease.
Roughly 35 guests attended the ceremony for the man who has captured some of Obama's most poignant moments in office.
As of yet, no photos have emerged of the happy occasion"

His first began snapping shots of Obama in 2005, when he started chronicling the Illinois politician in the U.S. Senate.
The working relationship flourished and the pair have been together ever since.

(6,151 posts)I don't recall having seen Sousa's likeness before.
Along the same lines, the third picture from the top, where the President stands in the doorway: One of my fondest hobbies is writing captions for photos. If that had been a picture of ME, there'd be only one possible caption: "Let's see now... What did I come in here for?"

(53,657 posts)This is the first time I have seen a picture of Souza. I always heard that great photographers carry at least two cameras so that they do not waste time changing lenses. I have a nice Canon, but I am constantly changing lenses and lose a lot of good shots that way. I'll have to show this to hubby and drop a lot of hints around Christmas time!

(13,877 posts)amazing photos, just for kicks I try to imagine "other" politicians doing the same kind of things...especially with the babies and kids...not many could pull it off because it's not an act. It's from the inside.
