(92,452 posts)the Keystone XL pipeline is a jobs generator either! I've about had it with his BS about how "clean coal" and LNG/fracking is the best way forward because that is total horseshit and anyone who buys that story line deserves to choke on polluted air and water.
I used to have hope that this one was going to help us become free from the corporatocracy, but not any more.

(92,452 posts)But if you watched Gasland2... we were reminded of his about face on the issue during the last STOTU speech which is when I became alarmed about what my vote for him actually meant. I have a very ugly feeling that he's going to approve it and than try to tell us it's an infrastructure thing or a component of the jobs initiative. It won't be long before we get that horrible news. I am glad there's no shale beneath me but I can see that other issues will destroy this place before long too, we have lots of public land and clean water, so far.

(171,577 posts)I would prefer to be disappointed once a decision is made, not before. But that's me.

(92,452 posts)I can relate to your position.
I saw it on this web site the other night, someone posted the link (also on Youtube). I don't have a TeeVee but I can see most of what I want online somewhere or another. I didn't see 1 but was too interested in seeing 2 that I couldn't resist when it was posted here - stayed up way past my bedtime to watch it.
I recommend that every human watch it, it tells us what we're up against and that it isn't just the Keystone, these bastards have the whole planet mapped out and those who have been run out of their homes have, mostly, been paid off but also had to sign nondisclosure agreements to get the buyout... Even if he wanted to, Obama has no ability to thwart them. I suspect that his family has been threatened, among other threats, and in order to spare us a civil war is complicit... even if reluctantly. But anyone who isn't into paying for water and air needs to get it together about this threat to the the entire biosphere and do something about it, together as a species. I had hoped that he could lead the charge.

There's all of DU for that.. just not here in the BOG.

(305,137 posts)This is the Barack Obama Group and here we concentrate on what good has been done for our country and leave the rest of DU to speculate and air their personal gripes.
I have will continue to have optimism and won't be dragged down by those who think they're on the fooking titanic.

(53,590 posts)I thought it was a great speech and I am looking forward to the next three years, particularly next year when the ACA fully kicks in.

Keep your eyes on the prize.
Don't get sidetracked by the malcontents.
Just brush them off . . the same way President Obama did when he first ran for President in 2008 when. during that one campaign speech, he did the "brushing off" gesture.

(3,919 posts)president obama sets his mind on something - he gets it done.
we are witnessing a very focused president at this time. he realizes the gop is not going to compromise for the good our nation like the good little patriots they proclaim to be.
