The Democratic nominee for the 2021 VA statewide elections got over 48 percent of the popular vote.

This is during an odd year/off year election year with a semi unpopular Democratic incumbent POTUS. The 2021 Democratic nominee for Governor,Lt Governor, and Attorney General ran a mediocre campaign.

2022- only all of the US House seats from VA are up for grabs.
Republicans will win all of the Republican held US House seats in VA.
VA-1(Wittman-R)
VA-5(Good-R)
VA-6(Cline-R)
VA-9(Griffith-R)
Democrats will hold onto
VA-3(Scott-D)
VA-4(McEachin-D)
VA-8(Beyer-D)
VA-10(Wexton-D)
VA-11(Connolly-D)
Wexton-D is the perfect candidate for statewide office in VA.
The Tossup races in VA are
VA-2(Luria-D)
VA-7(Spanberger-D)
Both Luria-D and Spanberger-D are both perfect candidate for statewide office in VA.

I believe the statewide office referenced in the OP is the Virginia Governor

November 2024 and 2026 are the next US Senate elections in Virginia
