Despite losing in VA in 2021, Democrats did a lot better than they did in 2009.

Governor- Creigh Deeds-D lost to Bob McDonnell-R by a double digit margin.
Lt Governor- Jody Wagner-D lost to Bill Bolling-R by a double digit margin.
Attorney General- Steve Shannon-D lost to Ken Cuccinelli-R by a double digit margin.

Democrats lost the 2021 VA Gubernatorial, Lt Gubernatorial, and Attorney General Election by a less than 2.5 percent margin.
