(3,453 posts)Check out these races below. None of the districts below won more than 5 points, most of them only 1 or 2 points, several even less than 1 point. We're close. Then, we have several things on our side that will help us in the mid-terms. First, The Texas Democratic Party vowed to register 2 million voters by 2022 elections and has launched an aggressive campaign to GotV next year. Beto's group, Powered by People is also aggressively campaigning, Beto has gone to several counties and become a VDR, during live streams, and has been mobilizing an army of VDRs.
Trump will not be on the ballot, so the turnout we saw in 2020, we won't see again from Republicans in 2022. Plus, unfortunate as it may be, there have already been 55K-ish deaths in Texas and the Delta Variant is going to make things worse. There are some unfortunate victims, but I'm willing to bet that a large majority of these deaths, especially the ones to come, will be Republican voters who are anti-vax and anti-mask.
And on top of allllll of that, Texans are EXTREMELY pissed off about the power grid, about the way Abbott has handled Covid, about the things the GOP are doing in the State legislature.
So, yes we'll flip the 8 districts, and probably more. I have no doubt about it.
