If Gore-D picked Cleland as his VP in 2000 instead of Lieberman, would he have won?

Would it have make it easier for Biden-D to pick Duckworth as the 2020 Democratic VP nominee?

Cleland is a disabled veteran from the Vietnam War.
Duckworth is a disabled veteran from the Iraq War.

Remember the "Brooks Brothers Riot"? Supreme court giving it to bush, though he lost?

that they do NOT like Vietnam veterans. We embarrass our fellow citizens; they don't like to remember that we exist. Three presidential candidates in a row (of different parties) were defeated: Gore, Kerry, and McCain. Two Vietnam veterans - one disabled - on the same ticket would have been the certain kiss of death. That's just the brutal, honest truth, which is what Democrats need if we're going to win.

By the way, nkpolitics1212, I really enjoy your Senate projections. Thanks for all your research and for sharing it with us!
