Trying to upload a photo for a stickie, but even

When I resize it, I get a message saying there was an error because of the type of file.

Any suggestions?

1. What file type is it ? jpg, tiff, png, gif ?

I’m just picking photos from my photo library.

4. Try to Export or Save As

in there, you can make sure it is jpeg

then upload that file ?

i don’t know much these days on popular stuff like image sites. my info can be decades behind the current stuff

5. I had a problem yesterday,,,

I had selected a frame of an android phone video as a 'picture' it was named as a .jpg file but it would not upload,,,, the minute I changed to a true still photo and resized it I was fine,,,,

9. Some images are a mystery.

I had one upload when I renamed jpeg to jpg.

Try a different one. If it uploads, you don't have to post it. We don't know the code that is doing this, so it can be a crap shoot at times.

Remember, this is a direct upload, not the usual "I am hosted at xyz.com" so it's a different bunch of code doing the work. Probably less robust.

12. The image was on my computer, so renaming was easy.

You might try using a computer rather than mobile device.

I had one image upload from the phone whereas it wouldn't from the computer. I suspect some network magic ( ie "private relay" ) that is invisible to me right now, but as I tell people, there is a damn lot of network, including the opaque Cloudflare hacker protection, going on, in-between.

I also had posts bounce APPARENTLY because there were some odd (Unicode) characters in the title. And other times, for no reason I could figure. And so have others.

You might ask the admins to help, since they run the show and know the code. I have a sticky or two to spare so I can try if you post it somewhere.
