Related: About this forumiPod 5th gen with all of Obama's major speeches needs a new battery.
I can buy the kit but actually doing the repair looks really easy for me to mess up.
Ive googled for repair shops and called Apple help but they all say the same thing nope does anybody know any place that could replace this battery for me? Thanks heaps.
PS it doesnt help that information on the web is largely outdated. Also iPhone battery depot.com is a scam.
While were chatting, heres an interpretive dance rendition of the Republicans behavior today at trumps impeachment votes:

(21,320 posts)Option 2) there are places that specialize in repairing apple stuff. One near us is called Fix-It or something like that. Apple wont tell you about them because they are not authorized repair places, but I hear they are good
Do option 1 regardless.

I looked for the fix-it guys hoping I could mail to them as I don't find anything like that here. Thanks for responding!

(1,923 posts)If it's not booting while connected to power, your problem may be something other than a bad battery!
I'd consider ...
(1) Make sure it's actually connected to power. Assume for now that the cable is bad, try a different cable between the USB adapter and the iPad and wait an hour or two and see if it comes up.
(2) It might need a force-reset. Instructions from https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/how-to-reset-an-ipad/
If you have any iPad with a Home button, such as the iPad Air, then heres how to force restart your iPad:
Hold down the Power button and the Home button together until the iPad turns off and reboots. You can let go when you see the Apple logo on the screen.
If you have an iPad without a Home button, such as the 2018 iPad Pro, you need to:
Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
Then press and hold the Power button until the device restarts.
Fyi, there are a few more hints over on https://www.lifewire.com/ipad-wont-turn-on-4103788

(1,923 posts)Oh foo ... sorry I misread your post thinking iPad and not iPod. I've had my iPad (first gen!) freeze and not power up until I did a force reset. If switching cables doesn't fix it, and it's an iPod ...
There is Apple's article on force-resetting iPods: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204307
And if you need it, some help finding your model of iPod: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204217
Good luck!

(908 posts)Sorry, I'm having trouble figuring out what that means, it's like saying "my Ford Chevy". My brain is caught in some sort of loop, I need to know: is it an iPhone, or a Samsung? I must know!

(1,923 posts)Given how much angst ... and legal efforts ... Apple exerted trying to fight off copy-cats, referring to Samsung smart phones as iPhones is really kinda funny
