Anyone using Microsoft Excel?

Mine is for the Mac 2011.

Once a week, or so, I visit many of our retirement funds and savings and copy and paste the values from the web page into an excel cell. I use Veranda size 9, but it can be any font and size.

It works fine with Safari, but with Firefox - even with earlier versions - it would paste at Calibri (body) size 12. It does not matter that I format the whole page, or the column, the result is always the same. Calibri (body) 12.

Any idea what is so special about this font when I am copying and pasting a value from a web page?

1. Sounds like it's a Firefox thing

Very frustrating.

You might check your FF preferences to see if there is anything weird checked.

2. Paste values

Do you right-click in the destination cell and select 'Paste Special', then 'Values'? That way, it won't include the formatting from the source web page.

3. Or hover over Match Destination or Keep Source Formatting

and pick whichever's best.

If all else fails click the square above row 1 and left of column a to select all cells and change the font.

At least, the right click and paste special. Did not see values, but selected the Unicode text. Amazing.
