Related: About this forumiPad frozen during 7.0.3 update
The screen shows a dark screen, what looks like a connector and an arrow pointing to an iTunes icon at mid screen.
I've tried holding the top right corner button down for ten seconds. The screen goes dark, the apple icon appears briefly but then goes away to what I described above.
Please help...I am in deep doo doo now.

I'm not happy with the latest few updates and the changes to user interface.
Especially the new way they sort photos.
Good luck.

(51,122 posts)I had to restore as NYC_SKP suggested.
This was when I was still running OS 6.
It happens. Everyone should back up to iCloud automatically as Apple suggests.

(8 posts)Hard Reset your 7/SE/6s/6s Plus/6/6 Plus/5s/5c/5/4S
As we all know, restarting your iPhone seems to be an omnipotent trick to solve most minor problems on the first try. Indeed, it also applies to the situation here. And the following are what you need to do.
Keep pressing the Home (Volume Down button for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus) and the Power button simultaneously until the Apple logo comes back on again. Then release both buttons and your iPhone should boot up successfully and work normally. Generally speaking, restarting your iPhone will solve the "freezing" issue and complete the iOS 10/9/8 update.
Restore your iPhone with iTunes
During iOS update, you have to put iPhone into recovery mode, which may cause a restart-loop or iPhone gets stuck on red iTunes logo, especially when not done properly. In that case, you have no choice but to restore your iPhone. And the detailed steps are as below.
Note: Make sure you've backed your iPhone up before restoring since this operation essentially restores your iPhone to factory settings. You can take advantage of Tenoshare iPhone Data Recovery tool which offer you 3 ways for iPhone data backup and restore. Check how to recover lost iPhone 6s/6 messages for detailed info.
Step 1: Connect your iPhone (make sure that it is in the Recovery mode) to PC and select your iPhone when it appears on iTunes. Click "Restore iPhone".
Note: If you fail to restore iPhone, try to get iPhone into recovery mode again. Still doesn't work? This could mean that your iOS system is damaged. Then you will have to put iPhone into DFU mode before you can restore iPhone.

(8 posts)Reset iPhone. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. You can reset the word dictionary, network settings, home screen layout, and location warnings. You can also erase all of your content and settings
A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.
Back up data on the internal memory.
If Apple FMiP Activation Lock is enabled, you will need access to the internet to complete these steps.
From the Home screen, tap Settings.
Tap General > Reset.
Tap the option(s) to reset:
Reset All Settings
Erase All Content and Settings
Use this option for master reset.
Reset Network Settings
This deletes any saved Wi-Fi profiles.
Reset Keyboard Dictionary
Reset Home Screen Layout
Reset Location & Privacy
Type in the device password if prompted.
Confirm selection.
Soft reset iPhone -Ieenews with hardware keys
If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can do a soft reset using hardware keys.
Back up data on the internal memory.
Reset the ipad or iPhone Ieenews by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the home button at the bottom center of the face at the same time.
Hold them both until you see the screen go black.
Wait until the white Apple logo appears.
When this happens, you can let go.
The device will reboot.
