And I still use Sea Monkey, which has the same feel.

Mostly I use Firefox, but also use Safari.

Different browsers for different applications, also have different cookies saved in each one for paying different bills, looking at different accounts, etc.

But NEVER use Explorer.

I helped someone recently that had quite an expensive quad core laptop with big screen and all, it became evidently shortly that they have very little understanding of what's going on with the computer and didn't grok the difference between an installed program and an app running in a browser or even what a browser was.

This is a guy that's actually very competent in a technical field that has nothing to do with PCs or the internet.

So glad I learned, and am spreading the gospel of A.B.I.E. (Anything But Internet Explorer)!

I'm one of those that use it and I like it flaws and all. Have tried some of the others and I am just more comfortable with IE.

I will at least give it a try when it is released (beyond a preview version) on Windows 7. It is touted as the most standards based browser available, supports HTML 5 better than any other browser on Windows, four times faster than IE 10, 30% faster than Chrome (depending on which test you use), uses your GPU for hardware performance enhancements... I think it is at least worth a quick look this time... I've gotten so used to FF that I don't know if I could switch back at this point.

I normally use Opera 18.0.1277.0, but when that isn't compatible for some reason with a site, I use IE11. I understand why IE got so much hate for past versions, but these days it's a perfectly safe (if you keep it patched up to date) and usable browser. I won't use it for e-commerce or banking because the crooks target it first, but for non-serious browsing it's fine.

I'm sure there are some corporate intraweb sites that only work on IE, but I haven't had to use anything other than FF or Chrome since about 2008. I think that was when FF broke 25% so x-platform compatibility became a real issue. Whatever the reason it works for me!

1. It came with Windows
2. IT is offered greater deployment control in an office environment, locking down features, policy deployment.

5. It came with Windows

Honestly, the only people I know who use Internet Exploder any more are those who simply don't understand the imperatives of using a more controllable and secure browsing system. Now, IE 10 is much more secure than any of its predecessors, but compared to the script blocking capabilities of Firefox and Chrome add-ons, it offers little in the way of fine grained control.

You're welcome to try to convince our IT people of the virtues of other browsers. Expect blank stares in response.

You have to get the IT managers to update the internally written programs that only work on an older version of IE, and get their darn programmers up to date.

IE comes on the computer and is easy to use. Other browsers may be more elegant. I tried Firefox and Chrome. They were more difficult to use.

1) it's there

2) It's compatible with all the websites I go to

3) IE 11 is more secure for me than Mozilla or Chrome

4) I really don't give a damn what anyone else thinks about what browser I use
