Got myself blocked from Twitter - won't accept my phone number

So I sent a hastily considered tweet to someone asking "What should Putin do now?". My response got me blocked for violating their TOS against talks about suicide. Mea culpa.

To get back on, they are asking for my phone number. I use Republic Wireless which is a VOIP/cell hybrid. I am being required to get a new phone by March 31 because of the switch to 5G.

If I go ahead and order the new phone with 5G, but it keeps my old phone number, will I still be blocked? Had a similar problem joining a Discord with my phone, but they manually allowed me in.

Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

My experience with Discord is that I couldn't use a VOIP number, which is what Google is. I'll wait for a day or so to see if Twitter unlocks me.

I did discover that I just needed to sign out to see Twitter - just can't post, so I'm OK for tomorrow. Thanks again.

10. many sites and public institutions wont accept traditional phone numbers anmore

ie land line .so if that is all u have , what do u do. i keep my ll for 911 purposes . espicially when the power goes out a lot

11. Mine is a cell phone from Republic Wireless

But it is older- a hybrid Between VOIP and cell. Didn't use to have problems with it, but now I do. I have to replace it by March 31 because of switch to 5G.

Finally got back in Twitter by signing out. Will ride it out for a day or so to see if they let me back in. Thanks for your help!

Or an alternate email address from another provider (gmail, outlook, protonmail, yahoo, etc)?

(It's fairly common to see people register new addresses specifically for use with various websites.)
