Chromebox-any users want to share
As I posted below I'm not happy with windows and the next PC I buy may not be a standard PC.
I've looked at Chromebox. Amazon has a base model in the mid $200. range that is what I could afford.
No windows at all-and it does allow a ethernet connection. I really only use my pc for mail & as a streamer for online live programs.
I have chrome os on my pc's & have been very happy with it.
I would be happy to ditch windows all together-anyone have a Chromebox want to share their experience?
Thanks!

(7,715 posts)Am writing this on a Chromebook right now. I use the Chromebook for surfing the web, and my children are totally comfortable using apps like Google Docs, Slides etc as replacements for the MS Office suite of products like Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.
I'm not as proficient as they are, but I know from them and others that a Chromebook is a real competitor to MS products. They're generally cheaper than PCs using MS Windows and MUCH cheaper than Macs.
Once you get over the relatively low learning curve, I think the Chromebook is a real alternative. Just make sure you have a reliable internet connection, as much of the functionality of a Chromebook is cloud-based.
