You tube videos freeze after windows 10 update

Ok-I'm hating windows 10-again-

I was ok after doing this free windows 10 "upgrade"
https://www.democraticunderground.com/109523909

Unfortunately I can't watch video's on you tube now.
It appears to be a Chrome only problem-I tried cleaning cookies-turning off accelerators and checked for updates on drivers-nothing worked.

So I use IE or -yuck- "edge" for video's now.

I use Chrome because that is where my links are-I hope there is a real fix.

Why do I need to learn about Windows 10 when Windows 7 does everything I need from a operating system?

Yeah, I am well aware Microsoft is ending support of Windows 7 on January 14, 2020.
I have ample work-arounds for that situation.

My W-10 looks very close to W-7. Most of my favorites are pinned to the task-bar at bottom.

At my age (79 and trucking) I do not need any more returns on my capital,
all need is return OF MY CAPITAL.

Looks and feels very much like Windows. Same sort of point and click, drag and drop sort of interface.

No cost, no fees, no license. And it is far less prone to hacking.

On Edit: Check out the FOSS forum here at DU: https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=forum&id=1097
Lots of good info about Linux and Mint (which is a particular flavor of easy-to-install Linux)

That includes not only video/audio drivers, but print drivers also. Good luck.

ETA: Make certain that when you search for the drivers that you also get the ones compatible for Windows 10.

I had a freeze & followed the chrome links to a chat board they run. There were a lot of complaints all since the latest update.

Strange thing is I tried another video and it was working fine. I know it said they were working on a fix looks like they have one.

I'm a fuddy dud type user and Chrome has all my bookmarks etc... so telling me to switch was not helping. I know it works on IE and Edge or whatever. I just don't use them and why it wouldn't work on Chrome was a update issue. And it looks like they solved it.

Update-Nope-still has a Awww snap (fail) message.

There is a suggestion to change compatibility settings to windows 7 or 8 but not specific as to how-

I found it. Right click on main Google Chrome icon select properties & then compatibility

Update #2 that didn't work oh effin well.
Cheers!
