So after going through all these gyrations trying to get out of 100% disk space I've
come up with the answer.
Close all you damn tabs.
I'm at 4% right now.

Freeze unused tabs so they stop sucking your system resources
A fun new tab freezing feature in Chrome 79 will help prevent your browsers overflowing tabs from running background actions and eating up your CPU. Theyll still use system memory, so be diligent about how many tabs you really need to keep in your browser. This automatic freezingwhich kicks in after five minutes of inactivity on a tabwont happen unless you flick on a Chrome flag, though.

I don't know what OS you are using. If it is Windows, you have two places where temp files may be camping out and taking up space, (which, in some cases can be significant) and, of course, the recycle bin, as well.
There are often also many log files on machines with old installations that can build up.
There was a great tool called CCleaner, (Crap Cleaner) but I hesitate to recommend it because it has become bloated, very commercial and rather controlling
Just some ideas for getting a little more room on the HD.
