Why is YouTube stopping repeatedly for me? Is it possible I've corrupted it on my devices?

About six months ago I got around to discovering the YouTube universe of all the fascinating things available.

Yes, at this late date I learned how to Cast from my phone to the Smart t.v. and from the phone to the non-Smart t.v. via Roku. And I've gone to town, especially on weekends, hours on end.

So this morning, it hasn't been a matter of *one* video stopping and "loading" repeatedly, but ALL of the ones I've played.

So far I've only used the Smart tv this morning. I'm going to turn off the phone, which I'm told we're supposed to do once per week and never do, to see if that's something.

Any explanations or suggestions? tia.

device's 'buffering' for lack of a better word gets overwhelmed, so you basically have to 'cool' off the device and shut it off, for a minimum amount of time, and then resume later. Good luck in figuring it out.

2. Its buffering because your network does not have the bandwidth

Try to force YouTube to play the video at lower resolution and if it does not stop then the issue is your network. If it usually works., it's probably a temporary issue.

Also, I am assuming your phone is using your local wireless network to cast onto the TV. You might want to reboot your router.

Try using your other devices and see if Youtube is acting up. If any/all of your devices are doing the same thing then you'll probably need to plug/unplug your modem and or router. Make sure that any cables/wires are connected to your internet stuff(s) is firmly plugged in If that doesn't do the trick then it's a problem on Youtube's end or your ISP is doing something silly.

It’s faster and frees up a wireless connection. I had lag and freeze ups before that. I load up YouTube first on the TV, then connect my phone or iPad for control. I have a Philips TV and that’s the only way I could get it to work reliably.

and right now, the video hasn't stopped at all. Who knows. But I'll be trying the suggestions as things develop.

YouTube is loading today but I'm having trouble with Prime content loading.

FYI- I have found a few awesome apps that offer free content since I became a cord cutter 3 years ago. Check out some of the following in addition to YouTube that you're already using:

IMDB - current movies and TV shows

Pluto
Shout TV
