Warning - Venting: Duracell batteries are pure junk!!! I've had a lot of electronic

equipment in my time and the ONLY time I've had problems with battery leakage is with Duracell batteries. You just look at them and they start leaking. Now a Duracell has damaged my noise canceling headphones. Damn Duracell. End of vent!!!

just anecdotal experience but I've found that Energizers last much longer than Duracell too. I wait for Energizers to go on sale and load up.

In particular, this is true for the AA and AAA batteries. Those are the only ones that have exploded on me, and they have done so with an alarming frequency.

For decades, I only purchased Duracells. Then about five years ago, they started exploding in my electronic devices, including flashlights, remote controls, battery-operated toys, and more.

The company changed hands a few years ago and with it they changed the means of battery production.

Supposedly, if you send them the particular device, they will reimburse you for it. I always deemed it not worth it send it to them.

4. Yep, that's pretty much what I've found too. I used Duracell for a long time and then the leaking

started. Fortunately none of mine have exploded, but they sure have leaked, even in new packages stored on the shelf well before the expiration date. Fortunately, I was just able to clean the mess out of my noise canceling headphones. I used white vinegar with a Q-tip which some on the net had said to use. Wow, it worked really really well and the alkaline mess came right out.

and buy Sunbeam alkaline batteries, and have not had a problem with them. I guess it's been awhile since I used Duracell, thanks for the warning.

and you can still get a four pack of either AA or AAA batteries, they last pretty long in the things I use them in.
