You did not give details, but my guess is you had it in the cold and brought it into a warm place without sealing in a plastic bag first. If that is the case, you likely suffered from condensation - moisture is the enemy here. (cold on it's own should not hurt it)

Maybe putting it in a container with silica gel or alot of rice days for a few might do the trick - at least worth a try.

I have always made sure with any electronics or camera to seal in a plastic bag when bringing the item in form the cold. watch what happens to a persons glasses when they come in from extreme cold and you can see how moisture will condense due to the temp change.

Husband texts back, "POUR SOME LUKEWARM ,
WATER OVER IT & GENTLY TAP EDGES WITH HAMMER"

Wife texts back 5 minutes later. The text conveyed the following:
