Received an email from Navient, student loans. The act link went to my google drive. Problematic?

It seems odd to me. The link read 'your account'

Does anyone here know why that would happen? Never happened before.

I hit reply to the email to see the address and it's a navient.com address, legit, or looks it.

1. Do you have a loan from them?

I get about 3 phone calls about “my” student loan per day. The problem is, I went to school on scholarship. I don’t have, nor have I ever had, a student loan. Enough people do that there are many scammers out there, so be especially careful!

2. I get "bank" notices a lot.

if I have an account with the bank, I go separately to the website of the bank. Don't click the link in the email. I go to the contact us from and copy the email into the form and ask if it's phishing. Log on to the account on my phone r another computer (so they don't somehow get my password).

The company will let you know if this is their email. Rule of thumb is that any company that has financial dealing with you will not put a link in the email. so if there's a link, it's probably a scam.

3. Both above are good advice.

Never click a link which is in an email sent to you, even if it is from someone you know, unless you know what that link is and can verify that the link is valid. By which I mean you can compare the link to one in your own address book, for instance.

Disregard anyone emailing you about bank accounts, loans or tax matters. Banks, loan companies and governments do not communicate via email.
