I discovered this file on my desktop when I turned on the computer this morning.
C:Usersmy name hereDesktoppasarela_virtual_OK.jsp_files
I replaced my first name and last initial with "my name here" in the address. There should be a backslash after Users, before Desktop, and after Desktop.
I am essentially computer illiterate, other than knowing how to get online.
Can someone please explain this to me in layman's terms? I don't understand anything technical that I'm seeing about this online. Could it be related to a recent windows update?
Thanks in advance.
For some reason DU formatting isn't letting me include the backslash after Users, before Desktop, and after Desktop.

(33,643 posts)JSP is a web file format.
If you have a virus program (or at least windows defender) just do a scan on the file, if it's clean but you dunno what it is, just delete it.

(19,459 posts)Yesterday I was trying to save a webpage for something we want to do on a trip to Spain next month. I just ran Windows Defender on it, and it came back clean. I'll just delete it.
Thanks again, mr_lebowski!

(6,136 posts)Create a folder C:what-is-it
Make a note of folder where the questionable file currently exists.
Move the questionable file to C:what-is-it folder
Run the computer in usual mode of use.
If no problems occur after many weeks, you can delete the file
from C:what-is-it folder.
