Entering 12 into e.g. notepad doesn't come out 122 as well? That's utterly bizarre, almost impossible unless your calculator app or a required dll was corrupted.

But that won't stop me from commenting.

I'd go with keyboard issue. Does this happen with all number keys? Just 2 and 4? The 1 seems not to be a problem. Have you entered these numbers in a document or spreadsheet? Same problem? A Google search for windows 10 calculator not working returns a bunch of repair options.

If it's software, there are a gazillion calculators available for download. Try one of these and see if the problem persists. A Google search for windows 10 calculator replacement returns an awful lot of options.

As for going online, if the issue is connectivity - no wifi, bad connection - then going online might be a pain. But if internet access is not a problem, then going online is no different than opening the calculator. Instead of clicking to open the calculator, you click to open a browser. Put your calculation in a browser address bar and hit enter. No different, really, than the app. Plus, if you're working with really large numbers, you won't encounter errors that you might on a calculator app.

It won't take but a moment to learn RPN, and once you do.....you'll never go back. Guaranteed. You'll wonder how you've gotten along without RPN.

If it has an RPN option, it does not use an "Enter" key. Will have to check op manual.

"Solution 9 – Reset Calculator app" might be the quickest one.

As all can see, he fixed his problem, and there's other solutions.
