bought dvds. The new one has the same problem. Are they making cheap dvds? Or are they making cheap DVD players?

(135,425 posts)"international" or "multi region" (yay Amazon) and they seem to play everything. I will admit, I haven't played a DVD lately, maybe they're putting more coding on the DVDs themselves? I also don't bother with BLU RAY.
I may not be getting the full "experience" but I just don't care that much!

(3,163 posts)It's beginning to sound, as has been suggested, that there is a copyright issue for which your player does not have the proper coding.

(1,884 posts)I know first hand that some people have no idea what dirt and scratches on a CD/DVD do to the playability of their collection.
A scratch in the wrong place can make then unplayable.
