Need suggestions for a good, fairly private email service

My ISP sucks, and frequently returns any multiple addressed mails, more and more often lately.

I use gmail for stuff that does not matter, but do not want to put friends and family email addresses into the Google maw....same with Yahoo and similar.
Willing to pay for one, at this point, if it is truly private.

Any good solutions?????

Fastmail for 10 years or more. It is completely reliable, never had a single problem. I think I pay $20.00/year for some storage and a very safe site without problems.

I forgot, they sold out to Opera at one time and I was looking around for another mail program. By the time I actually got around to choosing a couple to check out Opera sold it back to the original owners who have done a huge amount of work to make it even better than it was before.

I think Proton is wonderful. I don't have it but I looked at it recently when my husband wanted a secure mail site but he eventually went with Fastmail as well.

not free, around $60 / year. you can have extra alias emails, temporary or permanent, great feature for a number of reasons.
