Furnace Filter

Installed a new HVAC system last year and having allergies I wanted to go with the best furnace filter I could get. Tried out the 3M Filterete 2400 series and it really has made a difference in the dust level in the house. They run about $25.00 a piece at Lowes but, I have found them worth every penny.

I live in the high desert of SoCal, where dust in the house is a constant issue. For my central AC/heat, I go with the Filtrete Allergen Defense filters. It's $20 for a two pack (14x30x1 in), and I won't use anything else.

Indeed, worth every penny! (Of course, as soon as I open up the windows on a windy day, it's all for naught.)

I have shopped around a bit on these and found that Lowes had the best price. Retail for them is just under $25.00 but buying 4 they knock off $15.00 and using their charge card drops another 5%. So assuming that deal is in place again next year when I need them, it seems to be the best price on the 2400 series of these filters.

Appreciate your suggestion!
