Got an electric power washer and I am loving it.

Last week I got an estimate to have my pool deck, front walk and driveway done. Thought it was a bit expensive so I looked into buying my own.

Spent most of the afternoon (off and on) doing my pool deck, gas grill & cover, deck & patio furniture and even the cushions. Kind of addicting to tell you the truth, I'd probably still be out there but needed to get dinner on and my hand is cramping due to holding the wand.

Oh yeah, and it works well on windows without any chemicals not to mention those damn mud wasp nests.

Tomorrow, I'm going to do the dog crates and maybe the walkway. Since it's only 1600 PSI it's safe to use on my car. So maybe that will be Wed project.

Anyone else have one? Any other good ideas for them?

Don't have a cockatoo but do have 2 dogs, that seemed to enjoy getting a light spritz...not sure how much they'd enjoy me getting up close and personal.

Also, only have plantation shutters and wood blinds so I'm thinking even with the great set up the dude has, I'd be in for some serious warping.

it sure beats hand scraping, but you have to be careful not to gouge the wood!

It washes the chalk off the paint so you get a better prep all around!

I had a concrete driveway when I lived in the south. Hired a professional to clean it and I was gobsmacked watching the before/after, so bought one of my own.

Now I have brick, so it is perfect. Love, love, love my pressure washer. There is nothing like watching that dirt float away and leave the raw wood/brick/stone back to its natural glow.

Not to put anything on your plate (especially in this heat), but once it is dry, you may want to consider putting a coat of deck protect on the wood. Cheap and easy to do - you can find it in the paint section of home improvement stores. It will keep the deck boards looking great for a long time.

it's that bumpy concrete stuff that has a light color used around pools. Don't really like it but can't afford to change it right now.

Be careful with wood though. If you hold the wand too close it can knick it as folks above have mentioned. It's great for getting rid of that moss on my driveway and I love the way it wipes out the weeds growing in the cracks of my cement.

It's a great outdoor chore for those hot days.
