Trying to find an old-school, thin, cotton mattress pad

My hubby is a hot-sleeper. He sweats, and washing our nice thick mattress pad once or twice a week has become a chore. It’s bulky and the poly backing melts in the dryer so I have to air-dry it and that takes way to long.

I’ve been searching for a basic, thin, all cotton mattress pad, like i had as a kid on my bed. They really had no padding to speak of, but they were soft, quiet, easy and quick to wash and dry on hot. I’d like to put it on top of our nice mattress pad so I can just wash it with the sheets as needed. I can’t find this type of pad anywhere.

Does anyone here know where these are sold, if at all?

4. I buy the nicest, thickest one I can find

and I sweat HEAVY at night as well, so sheets and mattress pad washed sometimes more than once a week. BUT mattress pad is ALWAYS dried on lowest setting. Those pads can get expensive, especially the ones I've been buying lately Low heat, longer dry times is always key. Don't be in such a hurry to get it back on the bed. Pull sheets and mattress pad, wash both in machine, but dry mattress pad on low setting. Sometimes, when I was working as a City Letter Carrier(door to door, walking 12 miles a day minimum) and washing sheets more than once a week, I'd wash separate and let sheets soak while mattress pad dried over extended period of time.

I completely understand why you're in search of cotton mattress pad, but have a feeling, if you'll find a bit of patience, you'll find that low heat, longer dry times works just as well. Has for me. Of course, now that I'm finally retired, I still do same sequence.

5. I don't use any heat when I dry

My bedding. I wash my mattress pad, by itself. Dry on no heat for 15-30 minutes. Then it goes on the bed. I have a ceiling fan over my bed, turned on high. Then I wash all my sheets and pillowcases together. I dry the fitted alone on no heat for 15 minutes, put on the bed, followed by drying the flat sheet alone for 15 no heat. The pillow cases on low heat for 15 minutes. I also smooth out each sheet with my hands when I put them on, removing any wrinkles.

I do not put the bed spread on until I go to bed that night. By then the ceiling fan has finished drying the bedding.

What you really want is a cooling mattress pad with moisture wicking. Those pillow top mattresses are known to be hot to sleep on, especially if they are memory foam.

9. There are cotton sheets advertised on t.v. that says they're the coolest you can get. But I don

know the brand name! Something like Shees...that's not right. Ask google, coolest sheets. Maybe they make a mattress cover. If not, could you just use another fitted sheet instead?
