Household Hints & Help
Related: About this forumis there an easy way to dust louvered doors?
My house is infested with louvered closet doors. It is a pain in the neck to dust them. Even vacuuming doesn't get into the corner of each slat. Is there some easy way to do this? Thanks.

(17,055 posts)To lift off dust, wipe a new paintbrush over the slats vertically, then horizontally. Clean the brush.

(18,219 posts)for all the areas and things that are hard to dust. You would probably have to clean the corners of your slats one more time to get them clean (but who knows), then this should probably keep them clear of dust. I think these type of dusters are called static dusters.

When I really want to clean them I use a bottle of window cleaner and spray, getting into the corners and then wipe them off. Most times since getting older I use a dust mop type of cleaner to just wipe them down.

(3,626 posts)not a little artist brush but the kind to paint walls and such. I use one on my keyboard, picture frames, mirrors, window sills, and in the corners of bookshelves, drawers and cabinets. Handy little suckers!

(7 posts)I have them outside on the shutters and I took that duster one uses on the inside where it comes in a box with the handle and you put it together. It works great for getting in those little corners. The dust clings to the tool and no dust on the floor. I love the way the dust clings to those little fibers. I keep one in each room of the house in an out of the way place and use it when I see dust anywhere.
Good luck blackcrowflies and Thanks.
