Jim Hightower invites you to attend or host an organizing party for overturning Citizens United
Note from Scuba: If you participate, please lobby for paper ballots, hand counted, in public.
from my email....
Dear Scuba,
This Thursday will mark 220 years from the day the Bill of Rights became part of the Constitution, establishing that the rights and voices of We the People are supposed to be at the heart of American democracy.
Nearly two years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court broke that compact when it ruled in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission that corporations have a constitutional right to dominate our elections by spending unlimited amounts of money.
Attend an organizing party this Thursday featuring a presentation by renowned democracy advocate Jim Hightower to plan for nationwide actions on the two-year anniversary of the Citizens United ruling.
Momentum continues to grow for an amendment.
MSNBC host Dylan Ratigan will be featuring our campaign. And Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley fresh from taking on the big banks in court joined the call for a constitutional amendment to reverse Citizens United.
Help keep the momentum going!
Attend an organizing party this week and help reclaim our democracy.

Jim Hightower is an author, public speaker and radio commentator who for decades has battled the Powers That Be on Behalf of the Powers That Ought To Be. Also, Public Citizen and some of our allies will lay out our visions for the January 21 nationwide day of action.
