2028 is going to be the year most of the senior US Senators are up for re-election.

Chuck Grassley(R-IA) if he is able to complete his term. How does Pat Grassley become US Senator? Does he get appointed or elected?
Mitch McConnell(R-KY) term is up in 2026. Republicans should nominate James Comer-R. Democrats should nominate Andy Beasher-D.
Patty Murray(D-WA) will be replaced by Pramila Jayapal-D if she decides not to seek re-election.
Ron Wyden(D-OR) will be replaced by Val Hoyle-D or Andrea Salinas-D if he decides not to seek re-election.
Dick Durbin(D-IL) term is up in 2026. Lauren Underwood-D replaces Durbin decides not to seek re-election.
Jack Reed(D-RI) term is up in 2026. Reed’s predecessor’s grandson and Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan’s ex husband Clay Pell should run for that seat.
